The Union of Catholic Mothers was formed in 1913. Our Foundation Was started in 1956 and currently we have 24 members. We meet on the second Monday of most months. Our meeting starts with Eucharistic Adoration/UCM Prayers and carries on either in the Hall or the Pritchard Room. We invite speakers to talk about interesting topics and go out for social events. We have a cake sale most months from which most of the proceeds go to our Charity of the Year. This year, it will be the Tadworth Children's Hospital. In the past 2 years we have raised £702 for The Make a Wish Foundation.

We have two days of recollection a year - one at St Gertrude's in March and the other during October at a retreat.

We also make annual pilgrimages to Aylesford and Walsingham. We hold an annual Bazaar and the proceeds go to various charities. Each term our Programme is displayed on our Notice Board in the Church Hall and at the back of the Church in the Narthex.

The Objects of the UCM are to help Catholic married women to appreciate the Sacramental character, responsibilities and permanence of marriage and to live in unselfish love, observing the laws of God and His Church. To teach and defend Christian values in family life and to ensure for our children Catholic education.

If any parishioner feels they would like to come to our meetings with a view to joining us, please can they contact Mrs Helen Wood, President on 020 8686 4933 or the Secretary Susan Hogsden on 020 8668 9734
